The Quest of a Soul

For the quest of a soul 'pon the literary banks

It may, by the muses, be but a prayer of thanks.

And thus do I wonder?are all things made known

To the cry of the searcher as he looks for a home?

Among the soft notes of silence, or the words' quite ease,

Ah! Home again, home again, to my own place of peace.

For there 'mong the heavens is it not only found

But in the quiets of my library, and the fresh pages bound.

O! stories unending upon the pages of time

Capture my soul with melodious rhyme.

For they can't be held by earth?s bound?ries alone,

But take on the wings of the wind being blown.

Past the limits of space and time does it soar,

With my heart as its captain and my past as its lore.

And we sail where the world and all reality end

With imagination as my wings...and the story as my friend.
