Hey... Just thought of something, twack me if I'm wrong.
Didn't you once say, all indigantly when you were mad, that Richard's theri form would be a snake?
And the handwriting is familiar, you said...
And with the possible Lyonesse/Rick shipping, the '*you* turned me blahblahblah' makes sense... If the idea that a theri could turn someone into a theri made sense. But to a scared and crazed person, it might...
Just a little theory. Maybe you'll be going all 'huh? What the hell is she talking about?' now, but oh.
Love

* Lyonesse just grins
Thwack you if you're wrong? I'd never do that...
And just for that, I ain't going to tell you outright whether you are right or wrong!
* Lyonesse cackles evilly
All I'm going to say is this: Lyonesse does know the person who wrote the message. And the person who write the message isn't the snake.
(FYI, this said person wrote the note on the reptile before he came to the Den. Then the snake, upon reaching the Den and hurting two of the sentries, crept into the house and shed its skin so that the message wouldn't be on him any more, but it would still be whole and intact.)
Get it now? And yes, this is what I like people to do. Look deeper into the story. I actually already told you who wrote the message in the story, but you need to know where to look for it because it was told all subtle-like, 'cause I find I'm quite good at that. :-)
Anywho, have I told you you're the best, lately? Cause you pretty much are...

here's that story Hes...
A small noise woke Yo-yo woke up. Something was not right. She seemed to be warmer than she should be.There was even a fox and a coyote curled up together, on an empty shelf in the library, of all places.
‘Ah, that’s it’ she thought as she saw who was curled up beside her. ‘Brushy got scared of the storm.’
Brushytail was frightened of storms. More frightened that the rest of the Pack was, she was scared in human form as well as fox form. And she had crawled in bed with Yo-yo, still human, and still awake.
“Brushy?” Yo-yo asked.
“Hmmm?”
“How’re you doing?
Brushy looked as though she was going to claim she was fine, but at that moment, the lightning flashed again, and Yo-yo could see the fear on her friend’s face.
“Oh Brushy!” Yo-yo exclaimed, as she pulled her friend in for a hug. “Let’s go somewhere else so we don’t wake anyone else up, ok?”
Without waiting for an answer, Yo-yo got up and walked out the door. She knew that the fox theri would follow her. Quickly thinking through all the rooms in the Den, she knew just where Brushy would be able to relax.
Turning back to her friend, Yo-yo said, “How about a stop in the library?” and without waiting for answer, grabbed Brushy’s hand.
She knew that Brushytail could never resist a book, and hearing a story was even better. Pulling a random book off the shelf, she sat down on the floor with her back against the bookshelves.
“Get comfy Fric, I’m reading” the coyote theri said. She looked down at what she was holding and laughed. It was one of the Pack’s tattered copies of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Brushytail’s favorite.
“Alright, Frac,” she said, a little nervously. She shifted and became a red fox, and Yo-yo's lap was became occupied.
“Comfy?” the brown haired girl asked, looking down. The fox just pawed at the book. “Alright, alright, sheesh?”
Opening the book, she began to read. “The hottest day of the summer so far was drawing to a close?”
20 minutes later, the fox in her lap was asleep, and Yo-yo was nearly there.
Being careful not to wake her, Yo-yo placed Brushy on one of the nearest flat surfaces, an empty bookshelf. She stirred, and looked at Yo-yo, a question in her eyes.
“Just putting the book back, Fric?” Yo-yo muttered soothingly. Brushy blinked, then her eyes slowly closed again. Yo-yo transformed into a gray coyote and leapt to the shelf as well. Brushytail shifted over, making room for the slightly larger animal. Knowing that she would be alright the rest of the night, Yo-yo fell asleep as well.
And all was quiet once again in the Den.
Starry, this story was SO incredibly adorable! You know that, right? It sounds just like you and Brushy, and I loved it. :-D

i may have to write something to tell you how that happened...There was even a fox and a coyote curled up together, on an empty shelf in the library, of all places.
don't let him hear you say that! There are times when I wonder if he’s really human, she thought as she surveyed the messy living room, Or some odd-looking life from another planet, brought here on a spaceship complete with Big Bird costumes.
hey, you said it, not me!!a brain, however, is another matter entirely...
Snake! oh no, Hes!
* StarrySkies wants to hug Hestia to take away all the pain
wow.
:-D Yeah, I had fun thinking up places they could be curled up together. If the NL Pack had an upright piano, I prolly would have had them sleeping together on the very top of that, because when *I* used to have a piano (it was very old, over a century, and really tall and wide), my cats would somehow climb up all the way to the top of it and fall asleep while someone was playing. It was rather cute. :-)
And I'm glad you liked that part. But yeah, when he reads it, I might just have to run for it...pretty much...yeah...
And yeah, I said it so no one else could...:-P
Yes, snake. Bad snake. Dead snake.
* Lyonesse hugs back and comments that if ever the situation were reversed, she would do that exact same thing...and moreso. She'd probably go on the rampage if anyone ever hurted Yo-yo, or Brushy, or Snowtips, or...*any* of her modor!
* Lyonesse sticks her tongue out at the bad guys. So there.
And I take it the "wow." is a good thing?
I love you, Star! I'm glad you liked it even though it was sad.

/me giggles. That's me! Hey! I don't snore! :P I drool, though... And mutter.
Managing to rhyme while being scared, with a storm going all WHOOSH outside and everybody sleeping. That's my Lyo :)
AAH Theito Hes, you scared me! You really really did... /me clings to her sister
Just know I'll be there, probably the one hacking at it with a knife or anything near me, 'cause it can't hurt you, I won't let it, you're my sister and no stupid snake is going to bite you, nothing is going to hurt you at all, I won't allow it!

:-D Hey! It's you! And how do you know you don't snore? You're sleeping when you do it! Besides, a I firmly believe that our...feline tendencies...carry on into our characteristics when we're in human form. And cats can snore sometimes. :-)
* Lyonesse chuckles at the drooling and the muttering
I talk in my sleep and have very vivid dreams and wake up at the slightest noise. So I guess we're even. :-)
And yeah...I do have the tendency to that. Like I said to someone else, I sometimes rhyme in my dreams. And rhyming when I'm afraid I don't do quite as often, but I'm not afraid of things as much in RL, and it's one of the things I do to calm me down. I site poetry, or make up some of my own. It's habit.
* Lyonesse hugs her sister back just as tightly
I'm really sorry I scared you! I didn't mean to...but it's all right in the end, isn't it? So that makes up for it.
And yeah, I know you'll be there. You probably were one of the people who tried. And just know that I would be doing the exact same thing, were the roles reversed.
I love you, modile!
* Lyonesse hugs again

Ooooh, we find out a bit about Lyonesse's past! So she first changed because of the shock of her parents dying?
You had me worried there at the end!
/me mutters about writting lionesses giving her heart attacks...
:) It was very good!

:-D Yeah, we do. And we'll find out much more in Webcast #7!
Yes, she did first change when she found out about her parents, but it's a bit more complicated than that, and you'll find out why later.
I'm sorry I made you worried. :-( And for giving you a heart attack. :-( I'll try not to do it again, I promise! :-(
But I'm really glad you liked it anyway. Thanks for reviewing!

Awesome Hestia! Is this a one-shot or will we be hearing more?
Thanks, Cat! Yeah, it's only a one-shot, unless I get more ideas for the kinds of dreams she could have (hey, now, there's an idea...) but then, they'd all be kind of sad, and I'm sure no one else wants any more sad ones...
I'm working right now, however, on a Webcast for Tim's "First Words" that will feature more on Lyonesse's background, however, so look forward to that!
:-) Thanks for reviewing!

Tia...that was scary. It was excellent writing, though. I think Ron can describe it perfectly here...you're scary sometimes. Brilliant, but scary.
~Megan~
:-D Yeah, it is kinda cute. I know that I would probably curl up with someone during a thunderstorm.
* Lyonesse hugs Nuala
And no, it wasn't your fault! Like I've told you before, I'm sure, this was something she had to dream about and if Nuala hadn't come in there at that time, Lyon's subconscious mind would have made something happen, like the wind closing the door behind her with a slam, making her jump and the snake to strike anyway. I could have done that, but I wanted to give your character some 'camera time', and I hope you don't mind too much.
* Lyonesse blushes a deep crimsonTia...that was scary. It was excellent writing, though. I think Ron can describe it perfectly here...you're scary sometimes. Brilliant, but scary.
Ah no. Now I'm a red lyra instead of a purple one! Well, maybe if I go hug Anne, it'll rub off...
* Lyonesse hugs her Nuala first and thanks her
Love you, Megs! ;-)
* Lyonesse goes to find Anne...
*Nuala hugs Lyonesse back.
OK, OK, you've made your point. And I do like being in the story. I'm not in them that much.
Love you, Tia! ;-)

The {Not a theri was stirring, not even a theri-mouse.
} part cracks me up. :-)
And great story, Hestia!

:-D Glad you liked that part. Believe it or not, I actually do rhyme in dreams. And then when I wake up I only remember the slightest bit of it, which is sad.
And thanks! I'm really glad you thought it was great.
Hugs to you, m'dear!
